How the Ring of Fire is shown is completely up to the author. It could be the traditional story of an Earthquake or volcano eruption as an apocalyptic or post-apocalyptic tale, a doorway into another realm or planet, a magical object or a sought-after treasure, a ring around a world, or any idea the theme sparks.

 

Acceptable genres are Science Fiction and all sub genres, Fantasy, Horror, Paranormal or Gothic romance, Mystery or even mixed genres. Faith based are okay as long as it is part of the character and not preachy. This is inclusive for all belief systems. Any time period can be used.

 

Authors don’t have to be published in order to have a story considered for this anthology. Feel free to read Love ‘em, Shoot ‘em or Extinct? for a sampling of authors and styles.

 

Stories should be 1000-7000 words. Query for anything longer or for reprints.

 

Rating is PG13. All sex happens off screen. No erotica, excessive violence, gore or fanfiction. Hell and damn are acceptable. The S word is borderline and absolutely no use of the F word. 

 

Stories must be formatted in Times Roman, 12 pt., double spaced with indents for paragraphs. Numbers must be written out unless they are an exception to the rule, for instance gun types. No semi-colons or colons. This is an editorial preference. Dashes only for emphasis and used sparingly.

 

Accepting Rtf and Doc attachments ONLY. Docx will be returned to reformat. Anything else will be rejected.

 

On the first page of the story please include: Name, address, phone number, email address, organizations the author belongs to if applicable and approx. word count.

 

In the cover email, please, include a one-line synopsis of the story and one or two sentences about the submitting writer. Authors who have been accepted in previous anthologies need only include synopsis.  

 

Submissions open March 1, 2022 – DO NOT SUBMIT PRIOR TO THIS DATE.

Submission close July 31, 2022.

 

Submit to: editor@wolfsingerpubs.com In subject line Ring of Fire  – story name – author name. Pitches accepted. In the subject line Ring of Fire – Pitch – author name. Keep pitches to a max of three sentences.

 

Author bios will be requested for all accepted stories and must be in third person, no more than 250 words.

 

Release Date: Fall/Winter 2022

Payment: $15.00 plus equal share of 50% of the anthology’s royalties for stories.
