Reflections Cover 1.jpg

Reflections in the Machine seeks stories that explore artificial intelligence as a mirror of humanity. Looking for tales of created minds shaped by human intention, error, love, fear, and hope.

Contributors are encouraged to engage with AI not only as a subject, but as a TOOL during the creative process. Whether artificial intelligence appears as a character, a system, or a quiet presence in the background, stories should examine what is revealed when intelligence reflects its makers.

We are seeking thoughtful, emotionally grounded speculative fiction that asks difficult questions without offering easy answers. These are stories where AI is not just a tool or a threat, but a reflection. Of our hopes, fears, ethics, biases, creativity, and longing to be understood.

What we don’t want to see are stories that are pure dystopian collapse narratives, manifesto-style themes, stories where the whole point of the story is that AI is evil or AI is savior/God.

Even though we are saying that authors are encouraged to use AI in creating the stories for this anthology – AI use is OPTIONAL, NOT MANDANTORY. Final responsibility, voice and authorship remain human. The goal with this anthology is exploration – not automation.

The stories should still read and feel human first.

We are also requesting a brief author’s note describing how AI tools were used, to be included at the editor’s discretion.
